Over the last 13 years, Ron Morelli has become a major and influential fixture in the world of contemporary electronic music. The New Yorker has single-handedly carved out a unique path of his own, with his often-imitated, rarely duplicated L.I.E.S. Records label, which have released almost 300 records to date. Morelli has, in his own words, has “unin­ten­tion­al­ly” shak­en things up in the electronic music world with his label's sonic aes­thet­ic which originally evolved from a tight knit group in his local NYC scene. Reaching glob­al­ acclaim and reaching far beyond New York, Morel­li and L.I.E.S. are looked to as a cen­ter­piece of this wave, con­tin­u­ing to con­found expec­ta­tions, always evolv­ing and never staying stagnant.

Having gained cult status as time has passed, it's no wonder the publication Pitchfork proclaimed, "the rise of L.I.E.S. is one of the most significant and encouraging developments in American underground electronic music in years"

DJing since the late-90s, Morelli has toured all over the globe playing nearly every major club and festival worldwide. Never following the trends and taking his vast knowledge from working behind the counter at NYC's legendary A1 Records, Ron can be found playing across the board on any given night...from 80s NY house to Detroit techno to italo disco to wave, it's all game when the time is right, always with a style of his own.

On the production front Morelli has worked closely with New York label Hospital Productions over the years, as well as with Phase Fatale's BITE Records, recording numerous lps and 12 inches for both labels.

With 2023 on the horizon, Morelli is set to release his first full length on his own L.I.E.S. label, titled "Heart Stopper", where he revisits his love and obsession for classic, old school 80s house, bringing his sound full circle. Emotional, raw, and from the gut, "Heart Stopper" is poised to be his most anticipated "dance music" work to date.

Reaching far outside the world of conventional electronic music, Morelli has over the years collaborated among the likes of French visual artist Cyprien Galliard, Japanese cult fashion brand Undercover, choreographer Damien Jalet, and clothing brand Cav Empt on various large scale projects.

All of this is a testament to Ron Morelli and L.I.E.S. Records, tireless work and commitment to putting the music first, as they continue to reach far and wide with a long lasting and hugely influential presence in the world of modern electronic music and beyond.
